My name is Ghazy Assassa , Prof Gr Eng and advisor to the president of Benha University (Egypt) for International relations and Information Technology.

Benha university (BU-Egypt) is a mid-size public university member of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities.

BU key activities are three-fold:

(a) Education at both undergraduate and post graduate (Master and PhD), (b) Research, (c) Community services.

BU includes 15 faculties, 146 departments, 77403 under-graduate & 10751 post-graduate students, 4261 staff members and 5344 administrative body (figures of Oct. 2017).

Five faculties are accredited by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education and three faculties are in the process of accreditation.

On the international dimension, BU-Egypt has established relations and Memorandums of Understanding with Higher Education Institutions in China, Japan, United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia and France. The number of overseas students attains more than 5000 students at both under-graduate and post-graduate levels. In addition, BU is a member of the Association of Arab Universities (AARU), the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE), Association of African Universities (AAU) – under finalization. BU has good experience in the area of ICT as applied to e-Learning, m-Learning and Distance Learning. More information about BU-Egypt may be found on

BU-Egypt is interested in developing fruitful collaboration with HEIs in programme countries in the framework of Erasmus+ and join the consortium as a partner university in Erasmus+ 2018 calls. Benha university HAD NOT yet participated in previous Erasmus+ projects and would like to be considered in Erasmus+ 2018 calls. BU-Egypt is looking forward to cooperating in CBHE, ICM, JMA and EMJMD, in particular:

1. Staff Mobility: Renewable Energy, ICT, Project Management, International Offices, Strategic Planning.

2. Capacity Building (CBHE): Renewable Energy, ICT, Project Management, International Offices, Strategic Planning.

Hence, if you plan to submit a proposal for Erasmus+ 2018 calls addressing any of the above areas, I would be very grateful if you consider the participation of BU-Egypt as a partner with your institution. Also, BU-Egypt would welcome the signature of an Institutional agreement or Memorandum of Understanding as a framework for future cooperation. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
