Within the framework of the Erasmus+ "European project design and management in the south Mediterranean region (EuNIT)" project, a conference will be organized in Amman, Jordan on 10th and 11th of July 2019.
EuNIT is a European project that aims, over 3 years (2016-2019), to increase international activity in Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in the Southern Mediterranean region. To reach this aim, the project has as ultimate objective to make the universities aware of the role of European programs in enhancing international cooperation mainly between European and south Mediterranean countries.
The goal of the Erasmus+ EuNIT project, as a capacity Building project, is to set-up and install, in each of the Higher Education Institutions involved in the project from the partner countries, a design and management unit that deals with the planning and management of European projects. Consequently, a regional EuNIT network will be founded by the created units.
In this context, the conference has the objective to raise awareness of the network's activites and to inform the higher education institutions of the region about the possibilities available in terms of EU projects, particularly, the HEIs which are not member of the project's consortium. Consequently, this will be provide an oppurtunity to encourge the HEIs in the region to join the network. Besides, the conference will be an oppurtunity to transfer the knowledge and skills gained by the selected trainers in the framework of the organized training sessions.
Two main aspects will be adressed in the training sessions so that the HEIs (through their attendees) become efficient and effective in running and managing EU projects. The first aspect will provide information on how to become involved in EU projects and the possibbilities which are opened to HEIs in the south mediterranean region. The second aspect will be related to the activities of the EU project design and management unit as well as to the procedures on how to set up an EU project and management unit in the interested institutions. Therefore, the HEIs will gain the needed knowledge/skills in EU project and design mangement and will be encouraged to launch exchanges and discussions regarding the design and management of EU projects across the region.
